DTECH, the transmission and distribution event formerly called DISTRIBUTECH, runs from 1 to 4 March 2027 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Its 2026 edition in San Diego drew more than 14,112 professionals and 536 exhibitors, and the organiser says 62% of attendees were decision makers and 53% were managers or above.
Why utilities and suppliers go
If you work on the grid, this is where you can see metering, automation, grid software, transformers and data platforms from hundreds of suppliers in one hall, and meet the utilities that buy them. In 2026, 32% of attendees came from utilities, from 29 countries and 37 US states, and utility attendance rose 15% on 2025. Clarion Events reports 3,590 connections and 1,271 meetings booked through the event app. For exhibitors, 23% of 2026 exhibitors were new to the show, so first-time stands are common.
Who attends
DTECH groups its audience into utilities, consultants, finance and investment firms, engineering, procurement and construction contractors, and data centre owners and developers. Utilities come for sessions on reliability, resilience, load growth, DER integration and AI, and can earn professional development hours through the technical programme and Grid University. Investors and EPC firms come to follow utility capital plans and project pipelines.
Programme and new summits
The conference runs alongside the exhibition, with technical sessions, workshops, Knowledge Hubs, breakfast and peer to peer roundtables and Grid University. New for 2027 are two full-day executive summits on Thursday 4 March, the Data Center Leadership Summit and the Wildfire and Resiliency Strategy Summit, from 09:15 to 17:00. They were previously separate events and are now paid add-ons to an Exhibition or All Access pass. Itron is listed as the presenting sponsor.
Passes and prices
Pass prices depend on whether you are a utility, a solution provider or a general attendee. The general Expo Only pass is listed at a standard $925 and covers the exhibition hall, keynotes, exhibit hall receptions and breakout sessions. The general All Access pass is listed at a standard $1,775, or $1,675 at the time of checking, and adds the technical conference, workshops, Grid University, roundtables and the Wednesday networking party. Refunds less a $110 charge are possible until 8 January 2027. Exhibit hall opening hours for 2027 were not yet published when checked.
