MITEC, the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre, has 52,000 sqm of event space in Kuala Lumpur and, by its own account, the largest pillarless exhibition hall in Malaysia, with 12,960 sqm column free on one level. Its Level 1 halls take floor loads of up to 5 tonnes per square metre, so heavy machinery can stand on the floor where it is shown.
What you get as an exhibitor or organiser
A direct 24-hour service ramp runs to all floors and connects to every exhibition hall, and each level has its own loading bays, so trucks do not queue for one dock at build-up. MITEC says the 11 halls together are the size of eight football fields. Halls on Levels 1 and 2 can be combined in threes, and the three Level 3 halls have a 14 metre rigging height for large stands and hanging structures.

Level 1A also holds a business centre with co-working space and private meeting rooms, and a 28 sqm VIP suite with an organiser office, dining hall and boardroom. The venue also lists a ballroom, a mini ballroom, a multi-purpose hall, lounges, a cafe, an outdoor garden and two amphitheatres.
Getting there and parking
MITEC sits in the 75.5 acre KL Metropolis development in the Kuala Lumpur International Trade and Exhibition District, at Jalan Dutamas 2. The venue’s travel page puts it about 13 minutes by car from KL Sentral and 12 minutes from the city centre, or 28 and 41 minutes by train and bus. From Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the rail link to KL Sentral takes 28 minutes from KLIA and 33 from KLIA2. Basement parking for 1,400 vehicles is reached from the North and South entrances and is run by ParkRite, with on-site services including e-hailing pick-up, a paramedic room and prayer rooms.
Who owns and runs it
The building is owned by MATRADE, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation, and managed by METCO Sdn. Bhd. Its design is modelled on a rubber seed, with a facade pattern taken from songket weaving. Enquiries go to [email protected] or +603 6206 0100.
