You can walk to any point of the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre within ten minutes, the operator says, so a large show here can be covered on foot without shuttle buses. The grounds at Messezentrum 1 in the south-east of Nuremberg are run by NürnbergMesse and have 16 exhibition halls with 180,000 square metres of gross indoor space and up to 50,000 square metres outdoors. Most of the exhibition space is at ground level, the site can be split into separate segments for parallel events, and six entry areas each carry their own service points. Visitor traffic and deliveries are kept apart, which helps when you are building or dismantling a stand during another event.

You can size your stand against the gross figures the operator publishes for each hall. Hall 7 is the largest single hall at 16,410 square metres, and Hall 12 has two levels of 13,730 and 13,330 square metres. Halls 1 and 9 each have 10,800 square metres, Hall 3 has 12,730 and Hall 4 has 11,690. The smallest halls, 2 and 8, have 4,680 square metres each. Hall 11, the Frankenhalle, has 5,340 square metres on the ground floor and 4,780 above, and the foyers add 7,890 square metres.

Halls 3A and 3C, designed by Zaha Hadid and opened in 2014 and 2018, give you 8,400 and 9,600 square metres. Both carry the German Sustainable Building Council’s DGNB Platinum certificate, and the operator says no other exhibition hall in the world matches their energy values. That is useful if your company reports the footprint of its events.

Conferences alongside your show

The NürnbergConvention Center lets you hold a congress next to the exhibition. It is made up of three centres, NCC West, NCC Mitte and NCC Ost, plus the Frankenhalle as a multipurpose hall, with 50 flexible halls and rooms for up to 12,800 participants in total. All of them connect directly to the exhibition halls, so delegates move between sessions and stands without leaving the grounds.

Trade fairs you can visit here

The centre hosts several of the leading fairs in their fields. In this directory, Spielwarenmesse, the toy fair, runs on 2–6 February 2027 and BIOFACH, the organic food fair, on 16–19 February 2027. The electronics show embedded world follows on 16–18 March 2027, and the packaging fair FACHPACK on 21–23 September 2027. Find more under trade shows in Nuremberg and trade shows in Germany.

Getting there and parking

  • From the main station underground line U1 towards Langwasser Süd reaches the Messe stop in about eight minutes; a zone A single or day ticket covers it.
  • From the airport take U2 from Airport station towards Röthenbach and change at the main station to U1, around 20 minutes in total. A taxi takes about 25 minutes and costs roughly EUR 27.
  • By car the A3, A6, A9 and A73 motorways connect to the grounds, with signs from every direction. Enter Karl-Schönleben-Strasse or “Messe” in your navigation system. A dynamic traffic and parking guidance system steers you to free routes and spaces.
  • Parking around 13,500 spaces on the grounds, 3,000 of them in a multi-storey car park, with more nearby linked by shuttle bus, and over 200 charging points for electric cars.

On site there are seven restaurants with more than 1,700 seats, nine bistros with more than 600 seats and three cafés at the entrances, and the whole venue is accessible to wheelchair users. Nuremberg has around 150 hotels with more than 20,000 beds. If you are bringing a stand from another country, our guide to shipping exhibition equipment abroad covers the paperwork.
