interpack

interpack is an international trade fair for packaging materials, packaging machines and related process technology. It is held at the Messe Düsseldorf exhibition grounds and organised by Messe Düsseldorf. The next edition runs from 10 to 15 June 2029. It is a trade event for the processing and packaging industry. It covers the food, beverage, confectionery, bakery, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, non-food and industrial goods sectors, so the whole value chain is at one fair.

interpack 2029 dates and opening hours

interpack 2029 is set for 10 to 15 June 2029. In July 2026 the organiser announced an early summer date and a new runtime for 2029. The 2026 edition ran for seven days. Daily opening hours for 2029 have not been published. The show runs every three years, with editions in 2023 and 2026. Who exhibits and who visits

The organiser reports that 2,804 exhibitors from 65 countries took part in the 2026 edition, from 7 to 13 May 2026. Trade visitors came from 161 countries, and the exhibition grounds were fully booked. By the organiser’s count, 75 percent of visitors came from outside Germany, including 28 percent from outside Europe. The organiser describes 2026 as its largest edition by exhibitor numbers. It reports strong attendance from the food and pharmaceutical industries. In the organiser’s visitor survey for 2023, 82 percent of visitors were involved in investment decisions, 58 percent found new suppliers or business partners, and 67 percent received information about new products. What is on show

The 2026 edition used 18 exhibition halls. Three of them were dedicated to process and packaging technology for confectionery and baked goods, and three halls brought together the pharmaceutical range. The organiser reported over 1,000 exhibitors in the packaging materials area, which covers packaging materials and packaging aids. The 2026 hot topics were:

• Smart Manufacturing, covering automation, data-based applications and flexible plant concepts
• Innovative Materials, covering materials that meet regulatory requirements
• Future Skills, covering the skills needed to run connected, data-driven production

A key focus was the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). Other programmes in 2026 were:

• the interpack Spotlight Forum, with around 75 presentations, sessions and panel discussions
• SAVE FOOD Expert Talks on 12 May
• Women in Packaging
• a Start-up Zone with 22 young companies, in more than double the space of the previous edition
• Young Talents Day on 13 May

Around 100 more companies exhibited at components, a supplier trade fair held alongside interpack.

Halls and stand planning

For 2026, Messe Düsseldorf’s project managers covered halls 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7a, 8a, 8b, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17. Tickets and registration

interpack is open to trade visitors. The 2029 ticket shop opens in autumn 2028, and tickets cannot be bought before then. You can register with the ticket shop or update your details at any time. Journalists must apply for accreditation online in advance. Without it there is no access to the Press Center or the exhibition grounds.

Getting there and deliveries

Exhibits and materials are delivered to Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, Gate 1, 40474 Düsseldorf. Gate 1 is reached from the A44 motorway, and a deposit of €100 is normally charged at the gate. The official on-site forwarders are Kühne + Nagel and DSV Fairs and Events. During setup and dismantling, free parking is limited to car parks P1 and P2. During the show, parcels can be dropped off at the shipping point opposite Hall 15 between 2 pm and 4 pm. A trade fair invitation is no longer needed for a German visa application. interpack is part of the interpack alliance, a network of related shows.
