Georgia World Congress Center

Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) is a convention and exhibition centre at 285 Andrew Young International Blvd NW in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. It is run by Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA), a self-sustaining state agency. The Authority’s downtown campus also includes Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Centennial Olympic Park and Signia by Hilton Atlanta. The centre hosts conventions, trade shows and meetings. The Authority reports that its campus covers more than 200 acres. This directory lists two shows at the venue for 2027, IPPE (International Production & Processing Expo) in January and PACK EXPO Southeast in April.

Halls and meeting space

By the Authority’s figures, GWCC offers more than 4 million square feet of flexible meeting and event space, including 1.5 million square feet of contiguous exhibit space. The Authority describes it as the largest LEED gold certified convention center in North America. The centre was recertified under LEED on 25 October 2022. The published facilities are:

• 98 meeting rooms
• two grand ballrooms
• three fixed-seat auditoriums
• several outdoor plazas and spaces

The Authority’s campus development page says a 100,000 square foot exhibit hall was added under a strategic vision introduced about a decade ago. It says this addition created one million square feet of exhibition space. The Authority does not publish sizes or capacities for individual halls and rooms, so exhibitors should get hall details from the organiser of their show. Location and on-site hotel

The visitor address is 285 Andrew Young International Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30313. Signia by Hilton Atlanta, the campus headquarters hotel, is directly connected to the centre at 159 Northside Dr NW. The Authority lists 976 rooms, over 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space, six dining options, a wellness center and an outdoor pool. Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home to the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC, is on the same campus at 1 AMB Dr NW. Centennial Olympic Park is a 22-acre greenspace on the campus and a legacy of the 1996 Summer Olympics. The Authority does not publish public transport, parking or airport details on these pages. History and management

The Authority was established in 1971 to develop a trade and exhibition centre, which is now the Georgia World Congress Center. Its role later grew to cover the Georgia Dome, Centennial Olympic Park, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Signia by Hilton Atlanta. Since 2014 it has also run the Savannah Convention Center. The Authority reports that more than $360 million has been invested over the past decade to improve connectivity and access across the campus and the surrounding hospitality district. A new campus master plan started at the Authority’s September 2023 board retreat. Kevin Duvall is Chief Executive Officer, with his appointment announced on 27 August 2024. Stacey Church is Chief Operating Officer. Kim Allison, Vice President of Convention Sales, leads the team that brings meetings, conventions and trade shows to the venue.

Visitors and economic impact

The Authority reports 3.4 million visitors to its campus in fiscal year 2025 and $1.9 billion of economic impact for Georgia. It also reports 152 events in a fiscal year, with about 1.15 million out-of-state visitors, or 33 percent of attendees. These are campus-wide figures for all venues, not for GWCC alone.
