The 33rd Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) runs from 1 to 4 March 2027 across two Kuala Lumpur venues, the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), with 17 halls in total. Its 2026 edition had 643 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions and 18,402 unique visitors from 123 countries and regions, and the organiser estimates US$1.24 billion in on-site sales.
Why furniture buyers go
MIFF is built around sourcing Made-in-Malaysia furniture for export, so it suits importers, retailers and contract buyers who want to meet manufacturers directly. The organiser says about 80% of Malaysia’s furniture is exported, mainly to the United States, Japan, Australia, Europe and the Middle East, and that Malaysian wooden furniture exports reached RM9.9 billion in 2024. Makers from Muar, which the fair calls Malaysia’s furniture city, show together in the Muar Hall on Level 1 of MITEC through MIFF’s strategic partner, the Muar Furniture Association. For 2027 the organiser expects more than 20,000 buyers from 140 countries and regions.
What is on show
Product groups listed for visitors are outdoor, dining, bedroom, living room, sofas, mattresses, kitchen, children’s, occasional and office furniture, plus fittings and accessories. For 2027 a new Live. Work. Play. format presents furniture in real settings: complete residential rooms, office and commercial furniture through MIFF OFFICE, and lifestyle and décor installations in the Muse Hall at WTCKL, which opened in 2026.
Design programmes
The MIFF Furniture Design Competition returns for 2027, with a brief focused on pet-friendly furniture for compact urban homes. FDC CLUB pairs competition finalists with Malaysian manufacturers to develop designs towards production, and six pairs signed agreements at the 2027 preview. xOrdinary, a curated showcase for independent Malaysian designers, returns for its sixth edition.
Admission and hours
MIFF is open to trade, professional and business visitors. Registration is free until 19 February 2027, after which entry costs RM30. Badges are not transferable, and under-16s are not admitted. Hours for 2027 are not yet published; in 2026 the halls opened from 9:30 to 18:00 on the first three days and 9:30 to 17:00 on the last day, which was also open to the public. A free shuttle runs between WTCKL and MITEC during show hours, and a MIFF counter in the arrivals halls at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminals 1 and 2 helps with transfers.
History
The fair began in 1995 at Putra World Trade Centre (now WTCKL) with 152 exhibitors, gained UFI-approved event status in 2002, and expanded into MITEC in 2018, which took total space to 100,000 m². It marked its 30th anniversary in 2024. MIFF is organised by Informa Markets Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., part of Informa Markets.
