Nimlok can design, build and install your stand in the UK, mainland Europe or North America from one UK contract. It has traded since 1970 and says it employs 100 people at its headquarters in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, where stands are designed and produced. It is one of the stand builders listed here and one of the stand builders in the UK.

A bespoke look on hired structure

Most of Nimlok’s larger stands use what it calls its Bespoke Hire formula. The main structure comes from its hire inventory, and the custom features, graphics and details are made for your brand. You spend less on architecture you would otherwise buy and store, and more on the parts visitors notice. Where you do pay for custom elements and graphics, Nimlok stores them and reuses them at later shows. Its UK operation produces at least 450 projects a year, it is ISO 9001 registered and it holds ESSA Health and Safety accreditation.

Exhibiting in Europe

If your show is in Europe, you follow the same process as for a UK show. The stand is designed and produced in Wellingborough, then delivered to the venue, and the UK installation team is supported by Nimlok’s EU installation teams in Barcelona, Venice, Cologne and Malta. Nimlok also has crew and logistics hubs in Germany, Italy and Spain, close to many large exhibition venues, which it says cut transport and handling costs and make post-show storage and onward shipping easier on a pan-European show schedule. That suits you if your own calendar includes shows at venues such as Fira Barcelona Gran Via or the Koelnmesse exhibition centre.

Trade shows in the USA and Canada

For North America, Nimlok has US facilities in Chicago and Las Vegas and a Canadian facility in Toronto, each with production, graphics and hire stock. Nimlok’s history page says the company opened in the USA and Canada in the 1980s. Stands there are installed by Sho-Link, a US labour co-operative in which Nimlok is a stakeholder, using union installers and supervisors trained by Nimlok. A UK-based US and Canada specialist, who has worked for Nimlok for 25 years, coordinates design, production and US show services from the UK and helps with drayage, imperial measurements and union labour rules. If you are heading to a show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, you can brief a team in the UK and have the stand built and installed locally.

Smaller displays, interiors and engagement

For smaller events, Nimlok Portables sells portable display stands, and the interiors team builds showrooms and meeting pods, with meeting pods priced from £4,200 including delivery and installation. You can also add stand games, quizzes, surveys, augmented reality and exhibitor staff training. Nimlok says it manufactures using 95% recycled materials.
