com2com is a stand construction company based in Kapelle-op-den-Bos, Belgium, set up in 2007 by Salvatore Fortunato and Jean-Paul Roskin. It designs, produces and installs trade fair stands, and it says each stand is ready for the exhibitor 24 hours before the show opens. It appears in our list of stand builders.
Who runs the company
Jean-Paul Roskin is the designer and also looks after sales, while Salvatore Fortunato runs stand production and manages the staff. The company says the founders started com2com during the financial crisis, with more than 30 years of experience in the sector.
How a project runs
- One contact throughout, as the sales manager also acts as project manager from start to finish.
- Each job begins with a briefing, after which one of the in-house designers prepares a stand design.
- Once the order is confirmed, the stand is produced in the company’s own workshop.
- Its own specialists install stands in Belgium, elsewhere in Europe and further afield.
- The team stays available during the event, then dismantles the stand so that parts, or the whole structure, can be used again at a later show.
The workshop team includes lettering specialists, metalworkers, carpenters and people trained in construction systems. com2com lists beMatrix as a partner, describing it as a sustainable system for exhibition, event and temporary builds. Its website also publishes a month-by-month planning calendar for exhibitors, running from registration a year ahead to reviewing leads in the fortnight after the show.
Building stands outside Belgium
com2com is the Belgian partner in OSPI, a network the company describes as about 140 stand builders in more than 50 countries. Under the network’s “Designed Here, Built There” approach, a stand designed in Belgium can be built by a local OSPI member with local materials and crew, for example at a show in America, rather than shipping material and builders overseas. Exhibitors weighing that choice may find our guide to shipping exhibition equipment abroad useful. It is also listed as a company member of IFES, the International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services.
Published projects
The company’s project pages show stands for:
- Snap-on at Autotechnica in Brussels
- Kingspan and Lecluyse at R+T in Stuttgart
- Soudal and Solucalc at Batibouw in Brussels
- Continental at Matexpo in Kortrijk
- VisitVar, Corsica and S&R (Congres Lokaal Sportbeleid)
Its home page also names Alpine and the Autosalon among recent work. A testimonial there from Vetaphone A/S of Denmark says it was the firm’s first time using a local stand builder and that it rebooked the stand for 2019 and added an extra stand.
Other stand builders in Belgium listed here include Creaplan, 5D Expo Solutions, XPO World and Art & Press.
