Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center

Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center gives exhibitors and event planners two linked exhibition buildings, TaiNEX 1 and TaiNEX 2, on Jingmao 2nd Road in Nangang District, Taipei. A metro station serves the site directly, and both buildings have their own underground car parks. The operator says the two halls together hold more than 5,000 booths and 38 meeting rooms. Both buildings are run by TAITRA, which the operator describes as Taiwan’s foremost nonprofit trade promoting organisation, founded in 1970.

Halls and floor space

You can pick a floor to suit your exhibits. The ground floors take heavy machinery, with a floor load of 5 tons per m2 in TaiNEX 1 and 5000 kg per m2 in TaiNEX 2. The 4F hall in TaiNEX 1 gives you a 180 x 126 m column-free space with a ceiling height of 14.3 to 27.3 m. Every floor is split into areas, so a smaller show can book part of a floor. Booth counts are based on 3 m x 3 m booths.

The TaiNEX 2 ground floor has 6 exhibit entrances and 2 exhibit elevators, so stands can be built and taken down quickly. TaiNEX 1 has 3 exhibit entrances and 3 exhibit elevators on its ground floor. The operator says TaiNEX 2 offers 156,700 sqm of floor space for 32,000 visitors, and its sky garden on the top floor covers 6,100 sqm.

Conference and meeting rooms

You can hold a large plenary and smaller breakout sessions in the same building. Room 701 on 7F of TaiNEX 2 covers 3,880 m2 with a 9 m ceiling and seats 3,240 theatre style or 1,512 classroom style. It divides into halves, thirds, quarters, sixths and twelfths, down to 324 m2 for 240 theatre seats. Rooms 702 and 703 next to it each seat 180 theatre style and also divide into smaller rooms.

In TaiNEX 1, the 3F Ballroom covers 671 m2 and seats 372 theatre style, or 160 classroom style. Room 504 and room 505 on 5F each seat 504 theatre style and divide into three rooms. On 4F, room 402 seats 396 theatre style and room 401 seats 384.

Getting there and parking

You can come by metro without changing to a bus or taxi. The BR line stops at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Station (BR24) and the BL line stops at the same station (BL23). Train and high speed rail passengers get off at Nangang Station, the terminal station, and take the BL line on to the venue. KUO-KUANG Motor Transport route 1843 links Taipei Taoyuan International Airport with the venue, and the trip takes 1h20m. There are bus stops outside both TaiNEX 1 and TaiNEX 2 on Nangang Road.

If you drive, TaiNEX 1 has 620 car spaces and TaiNEX 2 has 1,290, both underground and open daily from 07:00 to 22:00. Vehicles of 3 tonnes or more can use the TaiNEX 2 B1 loading area for a short time during move-in and move-out. From National Highway No. 1, leave at the Neihu Interchange. From National Highway No. 3 and Freeway No. 5, leave at the Sintai 5th Rd Interchange or the Nangang Interchange.

Facilities and services

Visitors and staff find the services they need on site. On the TaiNEX 2 ground floor there is an information desk, a clinic, a nursing room, prayer rooms for men and women, and a briefing room. The TaiNEX 1 ground floor has an ATM, a TAITRA Lounge, cafes, shops, restaurants and first aid. Chunghwa Telecom provides temporary telephone lines, and TaiNEX 1 also lists contractors for water and electricity, refreshments for meetings and a snack bar. The operator says TaiNEX 1 was the first exhibition hall in Taiwan to get the Green Building Label. It says TaiNEX 2 was the first in Taiwan to be awarded the Green Building Label, Golden Level.
