Privacy
This notice explains how Exhibition Directory handles information when you browse, contact us or use directory services. It describes the website as currently configured.
Who is responsible
Exhibition Directory is operated by Watts Digital Consulting Ltd, company number 14574775, registered in England and Wales. Registered office: #3042 275 New North Road, London, England, N1 7AA. Watts Digital Consulting Ltd is the controller of personal information used to run this website. For a privacy question or request, use our contact form or write to the registered office, marking your message “Privacy”.
Messages and technical information
Contact forms collect your name, email address and message. They also record the submission time, page address, IP address and browser information. Entries are stored in the website’s WordPress database using Gravity Forms, and a notification containing the submitted information is delivered to our administrative mailbox. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, identity documents or unnecessary sensitive information.
Directory accounts and requests
If you create an account or request a listing, correction, removal or ownership claim, the website processes the contact and account information, listing details, evidence and message you supply. Account and moderation records are stored in WordPress. Information intended for a public profile may be published after review; private contact, claim evidence and ownership records are not public profile fields. Public business facts may also come from the business’s own website, an organiser or a venue. A named business contact can ask us to correct or remove personal information.
Why we use information
We use enquiries to respond and keep a record of the matter, and directory information to publish useful factual records, review changes and prevent unauthorised claims. These activities serve our legitimate interests in operating the publication and directory, answering requests and protecting users. Account information is also needed to provide the account service you request. Technical records help with security, abuse prevention and diagnosing failures. A contact enquiry is not a newsletter subscription.
Analytics and cookies
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand page use, visits and device/browser patterns. Analytics is currently on when you first visit. Choose “Reject analytics” in the cookie notice to turn it off, or use “Manage cookies” to change your choice later. Rejecting analytics does not stop the contact form working. The site stores your cookie choice; Google Analytics uses browser identifiers such as _ga cookies when enabled. Account/session and security cookies support functions you choose to use.
What analytics receives
The analytics configuration sends page paths rather than URL query strings and disables Google Signals and advertising personalisation. It is not configured to send the contents of contact messages or newsletter fields to Analytics. Google nevertheless processes technical information when your browser contacts its services. See Google’s explanation for visitors to partner sites.
Service providers
The website uses managed hosting administered through xCloud, Cloudflare for web delivery and security, Emailit to transport notification emails, and Google Workspace for our mailbox. Google provides Analytics. These services process information necessary for their functions; staff and authorised technical support can access relevant records to operate the site. Form entries are not published as articles or listings merely because you submit them.
International processing
Our providers operate internationally, so processing may take place outside the UK, including in Europe and the United States. Their published information describes their processing and transfer arrangements: Cloudflare privacy, Emailit privacy and Google’s transfer frameworks. Contact us if you need information about the arrangements relevant to your data. This notice does not mean all information remains in the UK.
Storage and removal
Form entries and related mailbox copies are currently retained until manually deleted; there is no automatic form-entry expiry configured. Account and moderation information is kept with the corresponding website records. The need to resolve an enquiry, maintain an account or accurate listing, investigate abuse, or retain a record required by law affects what can be removed. You can ask us to review or delete information using the contact form. Deleting a live entry does not necessarily remove copies already held in backups immediately.
Your rights and objections
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your personal information. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, including the publication of personal information in a business listing. State what you want to change and enough information for us to locate the record; we may need to check that the request is yours. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Choices and external websites
You do not need an account to browse or send a contact message. Required form fields are needed to process that particular request; optional information can be left out. Directory and article links may take you to independently operated sites with their own privacy practices. Check their notices before providing information.
Notice changes
We may update this notice when website functions or processing change. The description above concerns current contact, directory and analytics functions, not an assertion that a paid subscription or newsletter sending service has launched.
